Carolina pays tribute to athletic director’s scholar-athletes
CHAPEL HILL, NC — Each school year, Carolina Athletics honors members of each varsity team as Athletic Director’s Scholars-Athletes, recognizing student-athletes selected for outstanding academic achievement.
The 2021-22 winners were honored at halftime in UNC’s final men’s basketball home game on Monday.
All have represented their teams with distinction, balancing the demands of participating in a college sport while excelling academically. The majority of winners are seniors, but in some cases an outstanding junior is selected.
Two student-athletes – Onyedikachi Ohia-Enyia of the men’s track and Abby Settlemyre of softball – were honored for the second year in a row.
