Cole Dailey has been selected as East Liverpool High School’s May Scholar of the Month. Cole is the son of Jim and Sue Dailey. He ranks No. 10 in his class with a GPA of 3.761, taking advanced placement courses.
Cole has been a two-year member of the National Honor Society and a three-year member of the Student Advisory Council. He is also a member of the Booster Club, Outdoor Adventure Club, Potter Pound and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Cole was a member of the Winter Homecoming Yard and was also part of the cast of the Springtime Musical.
Cole volunteers with the Elks Kids Christmas Program, Potter Petes Youth Basketball, and as a tour guide at North Elementary for the Back-to-School Bash. Additionally, he participates in community clean-up days and volunteers at East Liverpool Jazz Festivals and First Fridays of the Fifth. He also participated in service projects as part of the ELHS Leadership class. Finally, he is a certified youth soccer referee who works with the Beaver Youth Soccer Association.
Cole served his school as president of the Sophomore class and as co-captain of the college football and college basketball teams. He is also serving as a student aid this semester for Mr. Ben Wright. Cole was named to the OHSAA Leadership Conference.
Cole is a three-year winner for the college basketball team, earning recognition of being named All-Ohio Third Team, Buckeye 8 1st team, Division 2 All-East District 1st team, OVAC 1st team All-Conference , County All-Star 1st Team, All Zone Player of the Year, 1st Team All Zone, District V Coaches Association 1st Team, OVAC 4A MVP of Championship Game This Year and Award Winner Hi-Y 2022. He was also the first recipient of the Kaden Davis Memorial Award.
Additionally, Cole is a four-year letter winner for the varsity football team, playing the team’s goalie position. This season, he earned Team MVP, OVAC 1st team, Buckeye 8 1st team, Eastern District 1st team honors, and he was named OVAC Defensive All-Star Team MVP.
Finally, Cole is a three-year letter winner for the varsity tennis team, earning Northeast Tennis League 1st Team honors as well as varsity honors. It was qualified as a district in 2019 and 2021.
Cole is committed to playing basketball at Bethany College and will continue his college career by pursuing a degree in education and athletic studies.
