Authorities have not disclosed a possible motive for the murder. The teens, who have both been charged as adults, reportedly posted about the attack on social media according to police, but did not provide more details on what the posts were, on what platform they were made and if they were public. or private.
Miller and Goodale, who are being held in juvenile detention centers, filed their pleas in impeachment documents filed with the court on Monday.
They waived their right to a speedy trial, meaning prosecutors wouldn’t have to try them within 90 days of being charged, and Judge Joel Yates has scheduled the trial to begin on April 19.

He asked lawyers to schedule a pre-trial conference on March 21 to discuss issues relating to the evidence, the length of the trial and the method of jury selection.
Lawyers for the teens last week asked Yates to lower their bail so they can be put back under their parents’ supervision, saying they had no way of avoiding prosecution.
Miller’s lawyer Christine Branstad said research shows that detaining minors away from their families for extended periods before trial can have a detrimental effect on them and delay their development.
Prosecutors, however, have asked that the bonds be kept at $ 1 million or even raised to $ 2 million.
Iowa Deputy Attorney General Scott Brown said the “extremely brutal murder of an innocent person” warrants the continued detention of the accused.
Yates has indicated he will vote on the bond issue later this week.

During the interview with detectives, Miller allegedly admitted he was in the park at the time the murder took place, provided the materials used in the murder and helped hide Graber’s body, the complaint reveals.
Goodale is said to have worn bloody clothes, although investigators have yet to say who they suspect beat the teacher to death.
The two teenagers attended Fairfield High School, where Graber had been teaching Spanish since 2012.

Court documents also revealed that an associate of Goodale and Miller provided information detailing the social media exchanges between the two teens, indicating that Goodale knew specific details regarding Graber’s disappearance and death.
A search warrant was then executed by Jefferson County Police, who searched Goodale’s residence, discovering “several items of clothing appearing to have a substance similar in appearance to blood,” the complaint said.
Court documents also revealed that investigators interviewed another teenager, this one an ‘associate’ of Goodale only, who said he met Goodale at the park on the day Graber went missing.
Investigators added in their report that the clothing described by the witness matched a blood-splattered outfit seized by police officers at Goodale’s home, adding in the report that the clothing “contained a bloody-appearing substance.”
Police said the witness “described Goodale as wearing clothing similar in appearance to those seized” during the search.
The witness also told the lawyers who also saw Miller in the park.
