Unaccompanied learner charged with upscale drunk driving near Coffs Harbor

An unaccompanied learner driver has been charged with impaired driving after being pulled over by police south of Coffs Harbor.
At approximately 5:20 p.m. yesterday (Friday, December 24, 2021), officers attached to Coffs / Clarence Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were performing stationary speed control duties on the Pacific Highway in Bonville, when they observed a white SUV driving northbound. above the posted speed limit.
Officers arrested the driver – a 51-year-old man – who was given a roadside breathalyzer test and reportedly returned a positive result.
He was taken to Coffs Harbor Police Station, where he underwent a secondary breath test and returned an alleged reading of 0.166.
The man was charged with high-end PCA, unaccompanied learner and speeding.
He was granted strict conditional bail to appear in Coffs Harbor local court on Friday, February 7, 2022.
The learner’s license and license plates of the man from Coffs Harbor were confiscated.
